The minute someone tells Goa, the first image that comes to our mind is the Nightlife and exotic beaches and parties.
Goa nightlife is one of the most talked topics. Although being the smallest state of India, Goa has earned this reputation rightfully. However it is difficult to make list of all the bars in Goa, so we made list of Top 5 bars in the state.
So here we are:
The mixologist creates new twists in classic cocktails that are making a comeback – the Caipirinha, Dirty Martini or start sharing with a Mojito Jug or a Cuban Coconut. Dip the straws in together and have a go. So with your mix select a snack of your choice. The pizzas are great – Quatro Fromaggio (mozzarella, gorgonzola, caprini and parmesan) or the Balsamic Chicken (cheesy licking good) or the Indian spiced (chicken tikkas) variety.
The central bar will be having Brazillian bar tenders showcasing latest fairing and juggling techniques. The cocktails here are must try. Bonus point…. If you are music lover, then you are in for a treat. The chefs too put on a great show. Marbela is a place to get both shaken and stirred.
This is the high octane bar where Goa’s most imaginative cocktails come alive. You should try Pink Passion (fresh pomegranate, mint, sour mix, grenadine and passion fruit syrup with vodka)… the mix could get you thirsting for more. Or the Breeze of Hawaii (fresh pineapple chunks and ginger muddled and served with old monk rum)… this is not only for monks as this mix could remain unbeaten in the annuals of mixology. And there is no Monkey Business (banana pieces merged in honey, coffee, lime juice and vodka) when this drink is around.
But this bar has the most amazing collection of single malts too. With the warm and casual feeling that this bar exudes, wait for the music to begin as you nibble on spicy Calamari Peri-Peri, or the Chicken Cafreal on the Skewer. The Vegetable Salt Pepper is another hot favorite while the Thai Wok Chicken could tease the juices for another helping. So for spirited at heart, go for mixes or go straight… its bottoms up at Tease.
CAPE TOWN CAFÉ
This is one hell of a place. Cape Town Café in a nutshell is a restaurant, a sports bar, a club serving Goan, Indian, and Continental. It is for the young, the hep, the foodie and the clubbie.
Start with the Crumb Fried Prawns or the Batter Fired Mushrooms. This café is a place for multifaceted fusion, a 3 D style — drink, dine and dance.
Drive up the winding hill of Arpora overlooking Palms tosca, there is a club, but a night club with a difference. A multi leveled club, the canopied loungers are stark white, fluorescent at night, a jacuzzi tempting to cool off fevered brows, the water leading off to the poolside. There are bars at every level and the cosy dance floor has mirrored pillars reflecting the sway of bodies to the music being played. It is the music that raises the spirit and it is the spirits at the bar that add to you making your own music.
This place is ideal for stress relieving. Instead of the balao, the strobe and disco lights flash in the dark creating an ambience for the 21st century gen next searching for their own particular nirvana. Tito’s Club was born.
With a cover charge one can have unlimited house drinks. There are two soundproofed rooms with attached bars. Order a Devil’s Fizz or go High Voltage (names of cocktails) with the music. On weekends, you can see long queues waiting to get in with music and spirits imbibed till the wee hours of the next morning. Adjacent to Tito’s courtyard, the alfresco dining place, and to Mambo’s Café which caters to the hunger pangs, the dreams of founder Mr Tito Henry De Souza is a legacy that is carried on.
