Mangaluru: Get ready to burn your wallet at the Toll Plazas
We all love to have luxury and comfort but no one wants to spend money. We want to have the best things in life but hesitate when it comes to paying money. We bargain even for a single rupee.
Now to burn the wallet of all those people who use National Highways, the two toll plazas at Brahmarakootlu and NITK Suratkal have fallen directly under the jurisdiction of National Highways Authority of India.
The Plazas located at Talapady, Gundmi and Hejamady are run by Navauga Udupi Tollway Private Limited. In all these plazas, almost all the rates will undergo upward revision from April 1.
As far as what I have heard is the NITK tollgate in Suratkal, below are the price charges,
Rs.50 for light vehicles for 1 way journey
Rs.75 for return journey
Rs.1670 for Monthly passes
Rs.25 for commercial vehicles registered in the district
Rs.80 for light commerical transports vehicles or mini buses
Rs.120 for return
Rs.2695 for monthly pass
Rs.40 for local commercial vehicles
Rs.170 for buses and trucks
Rs.255 for return journey
Rs.5650 for monthly pass
Rs.85 for vehicles registered inside the district
I agree government is doing all these for betterment of country but imposing heavy amount on people is not a right thing to do. At present we are paying huge amount of taxes of vehicle registration, road tax and blah blah blah. But toll plazas is not just right thing to do.
What do you say?
