Mangaluru witness ‘Polali Chendu’ at Rajarajeshwari Temple
Mangaluru known for its beauty, immense traditional customs and traditions and not to forget the beautiful temples. Devotees all over the coastal region unite together when it comes to temple feast.
Speaking of one such recent event was at Polali Rajarajeshwari temple. ‘Chendu’ is one fo the unique features of this temple. It begins seven days prior to the ‘Avabhruta’ day, concluded with the game of ‘Kade Chendu’ which happened on Wednesday, April 11.
Kumara Teru, Hoo Teru, Soorya Mandala, Chandra Mandala, and Pallakki Utsav are organized during the five-day event. After the conclusion of ‘Chendu’, ‘Deevatige Salamu Bali’ was held. The festivities will culminate with a grand ‘Polali Rathotsava’ on Thursday, April 12.
If you do not kow, let me tell you this fact that in the year 1866 Rani Chennamma was impressed by this sport.
However the temple is under renovation as a result of which many religious activities have been called off this year.
