Why so much hype about Padmavati?

Producers of a Bollywood period epic have indefinitely delayed its release following countrywide protests by Hindu right-wing and caste groups.

padmavati controversy

But what I dont understand is, why is the movie being hated so much by some organisations, and what is the Padmavati Controversy all about?

Padmavati starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh is a biopic based on life story of a 14th century Hindu Queen belonging to the high Rajput caste and the Muslim ruler Alauddin Khilji.

Hindu groups and a Rajput caste organisation allege that the movie depicts an intimate romantic scene between Deepika and Ranveer, which is the Rani and Allauddin Khilji bringing an irk to the Rajput clans stature.

First of all the movie is not yet released nor it is shown anywhere in the trailer. Then how can people say whats in the movie?

Second Padmavati is a fictional queen in the epic poem Padmavat by 16th century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi, which menas she is just a fictional character so then how is her image being damaged?

I think people should be wise enough to understand movie is meant for entertainment, and create unnecessary hype on Padmavati the Film. Before judging someone or something you need to make your facts right.

Regarding to this tension, the movie makers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and team are planning to post pone the release date of Padmavati to the first quarter in 2018. The film was earlier planned to release in November End.
