1. Sammilan Shetty’s Butterfly Park
Sammilan Shetty’s Butterfly Park was set up in the year 2011 by Sammilan Shetty, a young nature lover and butterfly enthusiast. Situated at Belvai, near Moodabidri at the foothills of the Western Ghats, the park is a treasure house of a wide variety of butterflies belonging to this region. The park is developed on natural greenery and the butterflies are also natural inhabitants of the park. The park respects the butterfly’s freedom and no dome or enclosure is maintained to keep them trapped within the park. Only suitable conditions which are conducive to different varieties of butterflies are created to attract them to the park.
The park is being run with service motive and is not a commercial undertaking.

2. St. Joseph Vaz Shrine Mudipu
St. Joseph vaz was born in Benaulim, Goa in the year 1651. He spent his entire life on charity and social work. The chruch here is beautiful and depicted with beautiful arts all over. This place is a must try.
3. NITK Lighthouse
NITK Lighthouse is a prominent destination in Surathkal which is a suburb of the city of Mangaluru, at a distance of 20 kms from the heart of the city. This Lighthouse is present inside the campus of NITK. It is 30 metres high and is painted in red and white bands.
The beach comes to life during the college cultural fests as many events involve the beach and the lighthouse. NITK Lighthouse is famous for photography as it`s silvery sand and clean surrounding make it a must visit place. The visitors indulge in beach football and volleyball every evening. NITK Lighthouse is yet to get attention from the tourism department but the visitors prefer it that way so that it stays untouched.
This lighthouse offers a magnificent view coupled with a serene and calm beach that makes it a splendid place to unwind. The evenings are especially lovely and makes it a perfect spot for couples. NITK Lighthouse is open during timings: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The entry fee is INR 10.
4. Kadri Hill Park
One of the biggest parks in Mangaluru, Kadri Hill Park, is one of the most popular destinations of all tourists in Mangaluru. It is most popular among kids. Located in the east direction, away from Hampankatta, this place has indeed attracted lot of traffic.
5. Shri Yogishwar Mutt
Shri Yogishwar Mutt is one of the well-known Jogi Mutts in the entire country. Famous as Kadali Yogishwar Mutt, its presiding deity is Kala Bhairava, a frightening form blended of the features of Lord Shiva, Durga and Agni. Sadhus of the mutt worship this form that depicts blend of the features of Lord Shiva, Durga and Agni.
